Rue du Sorbier comes from the oldest vineyards of the domaine, planted just behind the family home in 1973. Typical of the Marne Valley, Rue du Sorbier is dominated by 80% Pinot Meunier, with 20% Pinot Noir and 5% Chardonnay smattered in. Levasseur was the first producer in Champagne to obtain three sustainable certifications: HVA (Haute Valeur Environmentale), Terra Vitis, and Viticulture Durable.

Founded in 2003

David Levasseur began working at his family vineyards around Cuchery in the Vallée de la Marne in 1992 and officially took over the estate in 2003. He currently farms 4.2 hectares spread out over 18 parcels. David brings a contemporary artist’s sensibility to a traditional craft, and the resulting Champagnes nicely bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, marked by a personal touch. After many years of sustainable certification through Terra Vitis and HVE, David began the official conversation to certified organic farming in 2020.
