A la douceur d'aller Cotes du Rhone Villages
Type

Red Wine

Appellation

Cotes du Rhone Villages

Variety

60% Syrah
40% Grenache

This rich and sultry red wine comes from the best Syrah and Grenache vines at the property. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with a long maceration in order to fully extract the color and aroma of the wine while softening the tannins. The wine is then aged in used demi-muids for 10 months. This is a rich, complex, and impressive red wine that shows the great terroir of Montfrin and the clear similarity with the renowned vineyards of Châteauneuf and Gigondas, located just a stone’s throw away. The name of the wine is a quote from the poem "L'invitation au voyage" by Charles Baudelaire, which begins "Mon enfant, ma sœur, / Songe à la douceur / D’aller là-bas vivre ensemble !"
