Domaine Bohn Alsace ''En Vrac'' NV
Type

White Wine

Appellation

Alsace

Variety

50% Riesling
50% Sylvaner from two consecutive vintages

The cuvée "En Vrac" is a nonvintage blend of Riesling and Sylvaner aged for two years in foudre, then bottled a l'ancienne (the old-fashioned way) unfined and unfiltered. Arthur Bohn writes: For the anecdote, the label comes from a postcard collector in the village who found this historic image of the Domaine Bohn. It's an hommage to the older generations who still transported the wines in barrel on horse-drawn carriages. The wine was delivered "en vrac" (in bulk), and Bernard chose to honor this forgotten practice by recreating an authentic cuvée inspired by the first generations of the domaine.
